The Asilomar Microcomputer Workshop (AMW) welcomes donations to help maintain the financial viability and intellectual diversity of the workshop. The workshop uses these donations to defer the costs of operating the workshop, keeping registration fees down. It also uses donations to provide scholarships to students or other participants of limited means who the program committee believes can significantly contribute content to the workshop but who cannot pay the full registration fees.

How to Donate

AMW operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. As such, any donation, beyond registration fees, is tax deductible. The workshop appears on many donor advised fund sites, such as Fidelity or Benevity, which can be used to directly donate to the workshop. Some of these sites also allow for matching grants, e.g., from employers or foundations. Donations can also be made via PayPal.

Attribution

Donations can be attributed or they can remain anonymous. Attribution will be made in the printed program and/or in signage at the workshop, but only if the donor expressly makes his or her desire to be attributed known. Donor-advised fund (DAF) sites usually provide means to indicate if donations are meant to be made anonymously or with attribution but you can also make your wishes known directly at donor@amw.org.

The workshop accepts donations from individuals and from organizations.

For more information or if you’d rather talk with someone about making a donation, please contact us at registration@amw.org.
